The first President of the United States in the 21st century, George W. Bush, has proclaimed, "My hero is Jesus Christ".  The dictionary says a hero is "one greatly regarded for their achievements or qualities".  At RMI, our heroes are not sports figures or Hollywood stars, but rather, those who give their lives to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the world.  The following are some of the heroes with whom we have ministered and for whom we pray regularly.

Steve and Amy Shoop. Great missionaries to Panama and their goal is to reach all the youth in the school system with the gospel. While visiting with the Shoops we had 21 public school programs where we were able to share the gospel and pray with over 10,000 kids who received it. .

Tim and Debbie Anderson. A missionary couple who loves what they're doing and feel as if Ecuador is their home. Tim and Debbie are evangelist type missionaries and are reaching into various cultures including street people, middle class, and the indigenous indians.

The Weis Guys: Paul, Karla, and Kelly Weis

Missionaries to Guatemala
The Weis guys are now in Costa Rica, Paul is the Field Director for all the missionaries in Central America. This couple is interested in reaching all of Latin America with the gospel even those who are seemingly unreachable. We were with them in two different areas of Guatemala, the most remote areas of Campur and Coban, and we spent a week with the Ganifina people of Livingston, the only black people in all of Guatemala and Honduras.

10 days at Castilla del Rey is like a lifetime on the mission field in some other areas. Over 4,300 decisions for Christ during our time in El Salvador with General Don Triplett, and we felt like we were in the trenches fighting the devil all the way. Thanks General Don for the great experience. The goal of this ministry is to reach every person in El Salvador with the gospel before Jesus comes. They've probably already done it.

Orson and Noemi Vila
Iglesia Evangelica Pentecostal
"PALABRAS DE VIDA"
Pastors of a dynamic church in Cuba that is reaching their entire city for Christ. Orson and Noemi Vila have weathered persecution, imprisonment, and great opposition, yet surviving and overcoming. Their church conducts eight services each weekend in the main sanctuary and they minister in an additional 600 cell groups each week.

Raymundo and Lupita Rendon, Directors of Hogar Douglas orphanage in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. I've known this couple for over 10 years. Raymundo was an associate minister with REACH for a few years before becoming Directors of the orphanage. One overwhelming characteristic of both of them is their love for the children of Mexico. While Raymundo ministered with REACH, he was an inspiration to thousands of kids, and now he and Lupita are dearly loved by the 45-50 children they care for daily.
